Design Inspiration|Like lines ascending and descending, forward movement is rarely straightforward. We see a parallel to the journey of life and the connections that make it possible. And those connections build into a relationship, a friendship, a community.
Dabu fabric is hand block printed and dyed in indigo
Handmade in the Mewar region of India by artisans who have passed on the craft for generations
Dabu is a technique of block-printing fabric specific to the Mewar region. First, a design is hand-carved into a block of wood. Then that design is hand-printed onto fabric using mud as a resist. The fabric is dyed in indigo and then washed. After the mud is removed, an intricate design is left in its place.
Due to the nature of handmade, color and size will vary slightly. Each pillow is one-of-a-kind!
Pillow insert is not included. We recommend using a down pillow insert that is 2" larger than the cover size for a fuller look.
After dyeing with indigo, there can be excess pigment which may cause color transfer, (just like the first time you wear a new pair of jeans). After a few wash cycles this will stop, and each wash should refresh the indigo and restore it's bright color.
Machine wash cold, separately, with mild detergent
The pillow covers look great and all 4 make a perfect set!
Mix and match the 4 and make a lovely set. The material is soft and comfy, the fit is just as they explained, and the West Elm feather down inserts made them full of life and comfort. You will love them!
