FAQ

Do you ship internationally?

Currently, we do not ship internationally. If you feel like you can't live without DABU in your life and live outside the US, then send us a message at hello@shopdabu.com and we can work something out. We won't leave you hanging!

Do you offer gift wrapping?

Even though we do not offer gift wrapping, we would love to include a handwritten note in the package for your recipient. At checkout, in the "Order Notes" box, indicate that you are giving this as gift and add your note. We will not include the invoice in the package.

How do I care for my home textile?

The best way to care for your DABU textile is to wash it on a gentle cycle, separately, with cold water and let it air dry. Do not use bleach or harsh detergents because it could change the color of the textile. Due to the nature of indigo, there may be color transfer, just like a new pair of jeans. After a few wash cycles, there won't be any more transfer. Fading over time is normal for natural dyes.

For the rugs, we recommend shaking it out regularly and spot cleaning as necessary. If your rug has a crease when you first open it, place a cloth over it and iron it until the crease is gone.

I noticed the pillow covers are sold without inserts. What is recommended?

The best insert for your DABU pillow cover, is a down insert. We really like this one. You can also check out local stores for inserts. Another sustainable route is to give life to a pillow insert you already have and switch out the cover for your DABU one. For a fuller look we recommend using a pillow insert that is 2" bigger than the cover size. For more recommendations, check out this journal post!

Should I use a rug pad?

Yes! Especially if you rug is on light colored carpet as the natural dye may bleed (especially the indigo). The rug pad will also help anchor your rug on slippery surfaces and bring you cushy comfort.

Will my home textile look exactly like the one shown online?

Our rugs are made from leftover textiles that have been block-printed and dyed for other garments. Because of this, there will be variation in color as well as a slight variation in size. Our other home textiles have been printed and dyed by hand so there will be slight variations in each. They are special and one-of-a-kind.

The item I wanted is out of stock. When will it be available?

We are working on new collections all the time. Follow us on Instagram or subscribe to our newsletter to stay up-to-date on the latest releases and upcoming collections.

How is DABU contributing to the environment?

We are committed to sustainability. We only do small-batch productions and our products are made by humans, not machines. That in itself significantly reduces pollution and gives jobs to more people.

We make every effort to promote zero-waste and not add to the growing problem that the textile industry has created. This is why we reuse textile scraps in our products and deliver you beautiful, environmentally-friendly beauties!
