Dabu is a technique of block-printing fabric specific to the Mewar region. First, a design is hand-carved into a block of wood. Then that design is hand-printed onto fabric using mud as a resist. The fabric is dyed in indigo and then washed. After the mud is removed, an intricate design is left in its place.
Due to the nature of handmade, color and size will vary slightly. Each napkin is one-of-a-kind!
Care Instructions:
We recommend washing your napkin before using it. Due to the nature of indigo, there may be color transfer, just like when you wear a new pair of jeans. After a few wash cycles, there won't be any more transfer. Fading over time is normal for natural dyes.
- Machine wash cold, separately, with mild detergent
- Air dry or tumble dry on low
- Iron on appropriate setting when needed
